#MuseumWeek

On March 23rd, over 1,000 museums all over the world will take to Twitter in honor of the great cultural resource that is the museum. Using the hashtag #MuseumWeek, the Kemper Art Museum will join in this celebration of museums of all kinds—art museums, history museums, science museums, ethnographic museums, historic houses… the list goes on. There is no topping #LeftShark status, but we will certainly try.

Each day between March 23rd and March 29th highlights a different aspect of museums, each with a special hashtag.

Monday #secretsMW: What happens behind the scenes? We’ll share some insider knowledge about how the Kemper works and maybe even some well-kept secrets!

Tuesday #souvenirsMW: Tell us about your souvenirs and memories of visits: photos, mugs, books, postcards, and special moments!

Wednesday #architectureMW: You come to see the art, but don’t forget about the building! Our Fumihiko Maki-designed building is a work of art in its own right.

Thursday #inspirationMW: Show us the artwork and memories that inspire you to create, learn, and connect.

Friday #familyMW: We’re on a university campus, but we also have lots of resources and programs specifically for families and children. (Shameless plug: Join us for Community Day on Saturday, March 21st).

Saturday #favMW: What are your favorite things about the Kemper Art Museum? Did you love the exhibition of works by modern master Georges Braque? The innovative Tomas Saraceno exhibition? Did you enjoy a particularly memorable class visit to the Kemper? Or are you partial to our series of lectures and community events? Tell us why you love us!

Sunday #poseMW: Ai Weiwei did it. Andy Warhol did it. Beyonce did it (at the Louvre, no less!). Now it’s your turn. Show us your best museum selfie!

Follow our #MuseumWeek activities on our Twitter account, @kemperartmuseum. Be sure to tag us and include #MuseumWeek as the week gets underway. And, lastly, check out our local St. Louis museum hashtag #stlmuseums to see what our friends are up to. Looking forward to an awesome week celebrating museums!
